Lisbon is home. We photograph people who live and work here, and people passing through who want new photos while they're in the city.
Locations
Alfama and Graça for tiled walls, rooftops and warm evening light. Príncipe Real for the garden and its old cedar. Belém and the river for clean morning light. Sintra for moss and mist. Cascais and Guincho for cliffs and wind. Further out, the surf coast at Ericeira and the rice fields and dunes of Comporta.
A half day usually uses two places close together, so we don't lose the light in traffic.
Travel in Lisbon, Sintra and Cascais is included.
Light
From October to March the sun stays low and soft and we can shoot most of the day. In summer we work in the morning and the last two hours before sunset, which comes after nine in June and July.
